New Applicants

Scholarship applications are made separately to the online application system used for programme applications.

Your application for a place at The Courtauld will be reviewed for our scholarship selection process, which is assessed solely on the basis of academic merit for a majority of our scholarships. Your financial information is requested with your scholarship application to assess your general scholarship eligibility, and also used for a small number of financial based scholarships if available.

You are welcome to submit your funding application before you have received an offer. Once an offer has been made, your scholarship application will automatically be put forward for consideration at the allocation meetings.

How do I provide financial need information?

You will be asked to provide details of your income and expenditure – both for the year preceding the application year, and an estimate for the year you are applying for. This is supported by providing three months bank statements.

Supplementary Documentation

Please do not send any additional supporting materials (such as writing samples, certificates etc.) other than those we request, as these will not be considered as part of the application process.

How are scholarships disbursed?

  • All scholarships will be paid in the first instance towards tuition fees, and are conditional on you meeting their entry requirements (where applicable) and enrolling at the start of the academic year.
  • Any balance remaining after the deduction of tuition fees will be paid directly to you in equal instalments at the start of each term, subject to full attendance of classes and academic effort.
  • Scholarships are not transferable between programmes or years. You would be required reapply for any scholarship awarded should you elect to defer a programme of study.
