We started issuing CAS in support of visa applications from 01 June onwards. If you have not received the email regarding how to request your CAS, please contact international@courtauld.ac.uk immediately.
CAS can be issued 6 months prior to the course start date if you are outside the UK, and 3 months prior to the course start date if you are currently in the UK.
Further details about applying for a student visa, please visit: https://www.gov.uk/student-visa
For general guidance on student immigration, please go to www.ukcisa.org.uk
If your offer is conditional, we require proof of your qualification(s). Please email a copy of an original final, official transcript to ugadmissions@courtauld.ac.uk or pgadmissions@courtauld.ac.uk by 15th August.
Please retain your original transcript as we may require this during Enrolment, even if you have already supplied an electronic copy of your transcript as part of your application.
This does not apply to students who are currently taking A levels.
We cannot issue you a CAS in support of a visa application if you have not provided proof of passing your English Language Proficiency exam. Although you have until 15 August to supply your English Language Proficiency exam results, we would advise that you take the exam sooner so your visa application is not delayed.
Please see more information on our English Lanaguage requirements here.
Please note that the UCAS Embargo periods – between 28 July and 14 August – impact correspondence related to undergraduate matters to and from The Courtauld. We may be limited in what we can confirm via email or on a call during this time.
If your registered email is a school/university email which will be deactivated after completion, please let us know your personal email address for our record. Our primary means of communication is via emails-including important enrolment information.
You will receive your Courtauld email address within 48 working hours of completing your enrolment in September.
It is important that you regularly check your Courtauld student email inbox. We will be communicating important information to help you study at the Courtauld.
An email outlining the full enrolment process will be sent out in late August. Enrolment for most students will be fully online.
International Students – All students subject to immigration control (including Study Abroad and returning students) must collect their Bio-metric Residence Permit (BRP) prior to enrolment. Further information regarding this will be available at the start of September.
In order to complete enrolment, you are required to upload on your enrolment portal:
- Your entry clearance travel vignette with a UK arrival stamp. This will be a sticker on your passport. When you arrive in the UK, the immigration officer will stamp your vignette.
- Your Biometric Residency Permit (BRP) Card.
- Your visa decision letter or email, showing the correct visa expiry date, if the entire duration of your visa is not shown in the letter, your share code to confirm your immigration status and the visa duration.
If you received a Digital Immigration Status for your visa:
To verify your immigration status, upload these documents on your enrolment portal or email pgadmissions@courtauld.ac.uk:
- Your share code: we will use this code to confirm your immigration status.
- An email that you received from UKVI, confirming that your visa has been granted for the Courtauld.
- A copy of your boarding pass or flight itinerary displaying your entry into the UK.
How to generate share code
Read the guidance on generating a share code. Once generated, your share code is valid for 90 days and consists of letters and numbers.
Read more on the Digital Immigration Status webpage.
Reading lists for the various programmes and options we offer have been emailed by your programme leaders. If the reading list for your programme/option has not been made available to you by early August you may wish to contact your tutor directly.
As a student you will be entitled to access many discounts and benefits; however you must be enrolled first.
As such, you will need to wait until after you are enrolled to receive any student status letters for libraries, banks or Council Tax exemption. Bank and council tax letters can be issued by Student & Academic Services.
You will able to download a student status letter by using the self-service function on your eVision portal after your enrolment is complete in September. A student status letter cannot be issued without completing enrolment first.
You will be able to collect your ID Cards during Welcome Week, with further detail on timings available as part of the Welcome Week schedule.
The Admissions Office will request an ID photo from Undergraduate students by email. Please follow the instructions in the email and submit your ID Photo by the deadline stated in the email. If you miss the deadline, you may not able to collect your ID photo during Welcome Week and might have to wait for a couple of weeks for us to issue your card.
Postgraduate students will have already provided a Student ID photo as part of your application. If there are any issues with the photo provided, our Admissions team will contact you via email.
