Service updates

Temporary unavailability of theses from Egham depository

Please note, due to a health and safety issue, the Senate House London depository in Egham has been temporarily closed while the issue is resolved. In the meantime, theses cannot be ordered. We are happy to take requests for theses and order them as soon as the service reopens, but please bear in mind that there will be a delay and at the moment we do not have an estimate of timeframes. We apologise for any inconvenience and we will update this page as soon as we have more information.

Requesting material from offsite storage

All of the materials decanted to offsite storage at the Collections Storage Facility (CSF) have now been received and fully processed by the CSF. This means that we are able to offer a retrievals service for items held at CSF (all denoted in Library Search as ‘offsite storage’). It is possible for MA, PHD and staff users to make requests via Library Search, but while we continue to refine the automated workflow in advance of the new academic year, users may prefer to send their requests by email, to library@courtauld.ac.uk. We are running weekly requests, and the cut off point for receiving requests each week is 17:00 on Tuesdays. Requests received by this time will be available on Thursday of the same week; requests received after this time will be added to the following week’s order. For the most part, items in storage will only have one offsite copy but occasionally the offsite copy is additional to a copy onsite; where this is the case please do not make a request for a retrieval.

We will provide a further update about the service closer to the start of the new term.
