Sensory Trail

Free with timed ticket

Join us for a sensory trail at The Courtauld Gallery, exploring European Art 1400 to 1800.

Meet us in each of the galleries on Floor 2 – you will see lapis lazuli and gold leaf, touch silk and silver, and can marvel at the ceilings. You may even find a bitten apple from the Garden of Eden! There will be a chance to listen to a moonlit soundscape and explore the smell of sugar cane. We hope this sensory trail encourages a different perspective on the human lives involved in making, using and looking at works of art.

This is an informal pop-up trail, available to explore in your own time on Tuesday 27 June from 10am to 12pm. The sensory items will be in the new Courtauld Gallery Family Backpack, due to be launched soon, but this event is for all ages and we welcome all visitors.
