Interested in the history of architecture? Ever wondered why buildings look the way they do? What is the difference between art and architecture? Do they ever overlap?
Attend our From Greek Columns to American Skyscrapers: An Introduction to Architecture in-person workshop to explore these questions and develop a foundation of key architectural histories.
Throughout the day we will uncover and learn about various styles of architecture, visit The Conway Library which contains almost 1 million photographs of world architecture, and consider how architecture is depicted in artworks by visiting The Courtauld’s Prints and Drawings collection.
We will also adventure out of the classroom, to view and discuss the history embedded within buildings close to The Courtauld.
This session will be led by PhD student, Sophia, and members of The Courtauld learning team.
