Where do Research Forum events take place?

Our public events are currently taking place at Vernon Square, London WC1X 9EW.

Is Vernon Square accessible?

The Campus at Vernon Square is fully accessible, with step-free entry, single-level flooring, disabled toilets, lift access to all rooms, and free on-site parking for blue badge holders.

Where can I eat near campus?

There are many eateries in and around our Kings Cross campus, we reccomend any of the below, as well as our cafe run by Frequency on the third floor of Vernon Square.

Mildred’s is a 5 -minute walk, food is vegan/vegetarian based.

Tia Rosa is a two-minute walk from VS, food is Portuguese/Mediterranean.
Caravan is a 15-minute walk (Exmouth market), food is modern mediterranean.

Supawan is a 10-minute walk, food is Thai.
Liman, is a 10-minute walk, food is Turkish.
Moro is a 15-minutee walk from VS (Exmouth Market). Food is Mediterranean.
Morito a 15-minutee walk from VS (Exmouth Market). Food is tapas, sharing plates.
Quality Chophouse, is a 15-minute walk from VS. Food is modern British.
Hoppers, is a 20-minute walk from VS. Food is Sri Lankan.
Tamila, is a 7-minute walk from VS. Food is Indian.
Coal Office, is a 20-minute walk from VS. Food is Middle Eastern/Mediterranean.
Arabica, is a 20-minte walk from VS. Food is Middle Eastern/Mediterranean.

Where can I stay near campus?

There are many options for hotels/accommodation in the Kings Cross area, including but not limited to:

 

Travelodge – both the King’s Cross and Farringdon branches are within walking distance of Vernon Square.

We regularly announce CFPs on Instagram. Follow us @courtauldres.

Can you share other institutions call for papers?

We can internally share CFPs to our research community requested by current staff or students. We cannot share unsolicited CFPs.

Do you have an archive of your events?

Our Events Archive has a dedicated page featuring all past events along with any recordings that are publicly available.

Who can plan an event?

The opportunity is open to staff, faculty, and students.

If you are a student, you can either get in touch with studentunion@courtauld.ac.uk to run a  society-related activity or programme.operations@courtauld.ac.uk if it relates to your studies or other students. If you already have funding in place for your activity, you can contact researchforum@courtauld.ac.uk and the Research Forum can offer guidance on planning. 

If you are looking to contact us because an external organiser wishes to use a space at The Courtauld, then please get in contact with venuehire@courtauld.ac.uk for Somerset House, or facilities.helpdesk@courtauld.ac.uk for Vernon Square, as there may be charges to use the space.  If you are looking to organise an event in the Learning Centre, please get in contact with education@courtauld.ac.uk

I have an artwork that I want to be analysed, can you help?

We cannot help with unsolicited requests to analyse works of art in private collections. Please contact our conservation department: conservation@courtauld.ac.uk
