Book a Librarian

We offer one-to-one support for Courtauld students looking for assistance with finding and using resources, and other digital and information skills. To book an appointment:

  1. Check availability through our online calendar
  2. Book the session that suits you
  3. Tell us how you would like us to help you
  4. We email you to confirm your booking

Book a Librarian FAQs

What is the Book a Librarian service?

Book a librarian allows Courtauld students to arrange a one-to-one with a member of library staff to explore how you can make the most of The Courtauld’s library resources or to help you enhance your digital and information skills. For example, we can help you plan your research or with referencing.

I am not a Courtauld student - can I use the service?

No. At this time, we are limiting Book a librarian to Courtauld students.

How long is an appointment?

Appointments are 50 minutes long. If your enquiry is complex, we may suggest you make a second appointment so we have time to go through everything with you.

How far in advance can I book?

We aim to open bookings for appointments on Wednesday afternoons for the following Monday – Friday. The booking system shows the next available appointment. If no appointments are shown please check again later.

How will the session take place?

The session will take place through Microsoft Teams. Please make sure that you are signed into Teams ahead of your appointment. We will contact you through your Courtauld email account the day before your booking to confirm the session. We are only offering remote appointments so we can keep everyone safe.

I only have a quick question - do I need to book a librarian?

No. If you are unable to find the help you need on our web or Virtual Learning Environment pages, you can contact us with any quick questions about accessing and using our resources and services. We have created the Book a Librarian service for Courtauld students who would like a one-to-one to explore a broader area such as literature searches or citing particular types of material.
