From Monday 3 September 2018 The Courtauld Gallery will temporarily close for a major transformation project, Courtauld Connects, which will restore the historic building, improve access and create a dedicated Learning Centre for schools, families and community groups.
During the renovation our Learning Programme will continue to work with primary school children through a lively outreach programme of workshops, delivered directly in schools. These workshops will explore a combination of art history and practical art-based approaches.
Primary Outreach Workshops
These interactive and exploratory workshops, led by a specialist educator, will introduce key works from the Courtauld Gallery Collection and encourage looking, recording, questioning and responding to visual culture. Students will be introduced to a variety of drawing techniques to develop their skills as young artists. Many of our themes foster cross-curricular learning.
