Courtauld Fund Challenge 2024 – We did it!
We are hugely grateful to everyone who donated to The Courtauld Fund Challenge Appeal (9–15 May 2024). We received an overwhelming response and we are delighted to announce that we exceeded our target and, together, raised an incredible £132,000 for critical areas of need across The Courtauld.
Your generous donations will get to work immediately and will enable us to continue to support the next generation of art leaders, safeguard our world-renowned art collection, protect our Grade I listed Gallery, unlock hidden collections, and continue to conserve important artworks. Thank you.
Our special thanks go to our Courtauld Fund Leaders who pledged to match every donation made up to £55,000. We could not have achieved this tremendous feat without their support.
Thanks to you, our incredible international community, we can continue to grow and flourish as a leading centre for the study and appreciation of the visual arts.

Your support makes a difference
Whether you are a visitor, Friend, Patron, donor, Courtauld student or alumni, thank you for being part of our vibrant community. Every donation to The Courtauld Fund helps us raise vital funds to provide financial support across The Courtauld where it is needed most. Thank you.
Supporting our students
Courtauld graduates make an extraordinary contribution to the world’s creative and scholarly communities. Your gift will support much-needed scholarships, grants, the student Hardship Fund and our career-mentoring programme, enabling students from all walks of life to realise their full potential.
Safeguarding our collection and Grade I listed Gallery
The Courtauld Gallery is reliant on donations to create the beautifully curated exhibitions for which we are famous and our highly trained Front of House team work tirelessly to make your visit warm and welcoming. Your support will ensure we continue to offer the very best visitor experience and help preserve The Courtauld’s collection for future generations to enjoy.
Digitising our collections
Our expansive library holds over one million rare photographs and cuttings of world architecture, sculpture, paintings, and decorative art. Since 2017, we have led an award-winning volunteer programme to digitise these important images for all to study and enjoy. Your support will help continue this work to put the collection online, providing access for all.
Conserving important artworks
The Courtauld is home to one of the most important art history conservation programmes in the world. Your support will ensure we continue to lead projects using ground-breaking techniques to preserve some of the world’s most important artworks, wall paintings and historical sites.
