Painting Pairs: Art History and Technical Study

This is the first of two presentations by this year’s ‘Painting Pairs’. Five pairs of Research Associates, each composed of a graduate student from the department of Conservation and Technology and one studying art history, or curating, are beginning their investigations into five paintings drawn from the Courtauld Gallery, regional and private collections. They will each report on the initial stages of their technical and art historical examination in a 15-20 minute presentation, plus time for questions.
