The Netherlandish artist Pieter Bruegel the Elder (c.1525 – 1569) achieved widespread fame for his innovative graphic works. His lasting visual influence can be found in numerous works closely imitating his style produced in the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. This display brings together drawings and prints by Bruegel and works formerly attributed to him within the Courtauld collection to examine this legacy. Rosamund Garrett, PhD student and curator of this display will be giving this talk.
