Planning for the Future:
An informative evening on making your Will and the future of The Courtauld

Please join us for a virtual information event to hear about the different ways in which legacies have shaped and can determine the future of The Courtauld.

Professor Deborah Swallow, Märit Rausing Director of The Courtauld, will lead the discussion and will be joined by Dr Austin Nevin (PhD2008) who became our first Head of Conservation last Autumn. Austin will convey how bequests have impacted the Conservation department, as well as outline exciting plans for the future of conservation.

Conservation is only one area of many where legacies have had, and can make, an enduring difference. Others include access and outreach, pioneering research and teaching, as well as investing in new facilities. Indeed, without legacies, The Courtauld would not exist in the way we know it today. Starting with the bequests of Samuel Courtauld, Sir Robert Witt and Viscount Lee of Fareham, gifts in Wills of all sizes, have been crucial in placing us at the centre of excellence for the study of art history, curation and conservation in the world.

During the virtual event, a guest solicitor specializing in tax and estate planning will also speak on the importance of making a Will followed by a Q&A based on questions submitted prior to the event. Should you have any questions in advance, please do submit them by 15 May and we will endeavour to answer as many of them as time permits.

To have a confidential conversation about how your gift could make an impact, please email legacies@courtauld.ac.uk.
