Summer School Online

Over 8 weeks in June and July, our online Summer School offers 29 week-long courses focusing intensively on a variety of art-historical periods and themes, and including close attention to individual art works. Our expert lecturers – all faculty members, alumni or associates of The Courtauld –  teach in an engaging manner that maintains our high intellectual standards while being suitable to a non-specialist audience over the age of 18.

No written work is set, although we make pre-course reading material available to you on our Virtual Learning Environment. Your tutors will recommend further reading and other resources, and it is up to you how intensively you wish to study.

In conjunction with our lecturers, we have created an online teaching method blending pre-recorded and ‘live’ sessions that retain our courses’ essential content, intellectual quality and something of their lively interpersonal exchanges, while adapting to the different realities of teaching and learning online. For a full description of our online teaching method see ‘Online Course Delivery’.
