Uranchimeg (Orna) Tsultemin is a scholar of Mongolian art. Since she received her Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley (2009), she taught at UC Berkeley, and universities in Mongolia, S. Korea and Iceland. She is the Edgar and Dorothy Fehnel Chair in International Studies and Associate Professor at Indiana University’s Herron School of Art and Design. Her recent monograph A Monastery on the Move: Art and Politics in Later Buddhist Mongolia (Hawaii UP) received an Art Book award from Leiden, the Netherlands. Her publications also include six books, many exhibition catalogs and peer-reviewed articles. She is an active curator with exhibitions of Mongolian artists shown since 1997 internationally, including Shanghai Biennale (2012) and Venice Biennale (2015, 2024). Her research spans many aspects and topics of arts from prehistoric times to the 21st century.
