Sandra is the Digital Collections Manager at The Courtauld Gallery, where she manages the collections management system and The Courtauld Gallery Collection Online, promoting the digital preservation and dissemination of the collection.
Her academic background and experience span the fields of art history, museum studies, and digital technologies in cultural settings. She holds a BA in Art History (University of Coimbra, Portugal), a Postgraduate Diploma and MA in Museum Studies (University of Porto, Portugal) and a PhD in Art History – Museum Studies and Artistic Heritage (NOVA University of Lisbon, University of the Arts London (host). Her doctoral research explored the intersections of art and science in botanical observation drawing, photography, and photomicrography in British collections.
Sandra’s field of work has increasingly focused on integrating digital technologies within museum contexts. Before joining The Courtauld, she collaborated with the British Council Collection, the Royal Society, and the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26.
