10 Mar 2025

Dr Devika Singh, Senior Lecturer in Curating at The Courtauld, has been announced as one of four curators of the 28th edition of Paris Photo.

Paris Photo, the world’s largest art fair dedicated to photography and image-based art, will be held at the Grand Palais in Paris from 13 – 16 November 2025.

Dr Devika Singh is an art historian, art critic and curator who specialises in modern and contemporary art, with a particular emphasis on art in South Asia and the transnational history of 20th-century art. She joined The Courtauld in 2022 as the co-lead of the MA in Curating, and was previously Curator, International Art at Tate Modern.

Devika was selected to be one of the two curators working independently on the ‘Voices’ sector of Paris Photo. The other curator of ‘Voices’ is Nadine Wietlisbach, director of the Fotomuseum Winterthur (Switzerland). Each curator will design a proposal around contemporary themes in order to (re)emerge an artistic scene or a practice of the medium.

Curator Devrim Bayar, Chief curator of KANAL – Centre Pompidou will design the Elles × Paris Photo exhibition, which has devoted a special place to female artists every year since 2018, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture. The Digital sector will once again be curated by Nina Roehrs, a specialist in art in the digital age.
