Summer School moves online
Our annual Summer School will be moving online in July 2020 for the first time. Running over a 4 week period, it consists of a range of five-day courses focusing intensively on a variety of art historical periods and themes.
There will be a selection of twelve courses on subjects ranging from medieval mosaics to Renaissance painting in Venice and the looting of art during WWII. Our expert lecturers – all faculty members, alumni or associates of The Courtauld – teach in an engaging manner that maintains our high intellectual standards, while being suitable to a non-specialist audience.
Each Summer School course consists of two components: pre-recorded lectures that you can watch as videos at a time convenient to you, complemented by daily, live discussion and object-study sessions which will enable you to interact with your tutor and fellow students. The discussions will take place at 14:00 BST, making it them suitable for attendees in a range of time zones. Further conversations can take place in the course’s dedicated online forum, and attendees may also send questions and comments to the tutor by email. In addition, attendees will have access to pre-course readings and handouts on our Virtual Learning Environment.
Our Summer School has moved to online teaching due to the present Covid-19 outbreak. This is an opportunity to offer a wider range of people the chance to enjoy our courses, using tried-and-tested methods of teaching, that are easily accessible to anyone with a smartphone, tablet or computer and internet access.
Each courses costs £395 and can be booked here.
