Material Witness was established in 2013 with funding from AHRC and thereafter supported by CHASE Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts. Since 2018 it has been based at The Courtauld Research Forum for humanities researchers in the CHASE consortium.
Designed to provide interdisciplinary training in the interrogation of physical objects in the digital age, the programme brings together emerging and established scholars, makers, and materials.
Material Witness was founded by Professor Alixe Bovey at The University of Kent and is supported at The Courtauld by Teresa Lane, Associate Lecturer The Courtauld and Dr Grace A Williams, The Courtauld Research Forum.
