Introduction
This is last year’s Short Courses programme; the new 2021 programme – for which bookings are now open – can be found here.
Over 4 weeks in July, our online Summer School offers a range of five-day courses focusing intensively on a variety of art historical periods and themes, and including close attention to individual art works. Our expert lecturers – all faculty members, alumni or associates of The Courtauld – teach in an engaging manner that maintains our high intellectual standards while being suitable to a non-specialist audience over the age of 18.
No written work is set, although we make pre-course reading material available to you on our Virtual Learning Environment. Your tutors will recommend further reading and other resources, and you can decide on the intensity of your studies.
In conjunction with our lecturers, we have created an online teaching method blending pre-recorded and ‘live’ sessions that retain our courses’ essential content, intellectual quality and something of their lively interpersonal exchanges, while adapting to the different realities of teaching and learning online. A full description of our online teaching method can be found on the pages below.
