Our teaching methodology
Based on feedback from our recent summer term lectures on Californian art, which was overwhelmingly positive, we have made certain adjustments to our online teaching method. The latter consists in ten pre-recorded lectures and in ten related Q&A sessions. For the autumn term, lectures will be pre-recorded in Zoom so that you have a better sense of the tutor’s presence, and each lecture will be made available to you from Friday to Friday the following week; we understand that many of you have most time to watch over a week-end. The Q&A sessions will happen live, on a Thursday evening at 20:00 British Summer Time, via Zoom and you will be able to address the lecturer directly. We aim to keep this session to around 30 minutes (the same time as our live discussions at Vernon Square), but if do not wish to speak, or are unable to participate at this time, you will also have the opportunity to send your questions to the convenor, Dr Anne Puetz, who will put them to the tutor on your behalf. All Q&A sessions will be recorded and sent to you after the event. You will also have access to course handouts, pdfs of powerpoints, and scanned pre-course readings on our Virtual Learning Environment [VLE].
