Private Collection Visit

Wed 6 Oct, 2021

Charles Sebag-Montefiore kindly invites Director’s Circle members to an exclusive evening at his home in London to view his private library. Charles has spent some 45 years creating the definitive library on British patronage and collecting. The earliest manuscript is a catalogue of the collection of King Charles I, and the earliest auction catalogue is the posthumous sale in London in 1693 of Prosper Henry Lankrinck. He will show these with privately printed catalogues, association copies, annotated copies, private press books and fine bindings. Charles and his wife will generously provide drinks to attendees on arrival.

Please note that booking is required for all events. To book please contact scs@courtauld.ac.uk or call +44 (0)20 3751 0543 . Invitations and event confirmations will be emailed to members a week prior to the event.
