Speaker Profile

Jeremy Epstein is co-founder and director of Edel Assanti, a London-based gallery which he founded in 2010 with co-director Charlie Fellowes. Edel Assanti represents contemporary and modern artists whose practices engage with the social, cultural and political realities of the moment in which they live.

Jeremy had previously worked at Gagosian in London, managing high-profile artists such as Mark Grotjahn, Anselm Kiefer and Paul Noble. Prior to this he gained valuable experience working at Fondation Cartier in Paris and Tate Modern in London. He also sat on Tate’s Acquisitions Committee until 2016.

Jeremy completed Sarah Wilson’s MA course ‘Towards Contemportary Art: Postmodernism and post-Communism in Europe and Beyond’ in 2009. Avant-garde artistic practice from former Soviet countries continues to be a passion and sporadic area of engagement for Edel Assanti.

Jeremy remains closely connected with The Courtauld and has hosted a number of events in his gallery. Sarah Wilson has been particularly involved with three artists from Edel Assanti’s stable: Marcin Dudek, Gordon Cheung and Victoria Lomasko.
