Vesna Kuzmanova

PhD Researcher

Vesna Kuzmanova is a doctoral researcher examining contemporary art collecting practices, drawing on access to major private collections and leading public institutions in the UK to identify how their acquisition strategies and potential aesthetic, social, and ethical priorities converge and diverge, and how these dynamics shape artistic careers and the contemporary art landscape. Her research interests include the history of collecting, emerging art and the art market, the role of public institutions in artistic validation, the rise of the private museum, and curatorial frameworks.

Supervised by Dr. Stephanie Dieckvoss and advised by Dr. Tom Stammers.
