Impressions of Place by students at Driffield School and Sixth Form 2023

Detail of: A square canvas with a painting of a bridge, overlaid with a collaged bridge, which extends beyond the canvas to the left. The bridge is two shades of blue. The background is partly painted, with blue and green, and partly collaged with a map.

“When we thought about the impressions that we have of our town Driffield, our minds went to the beautiful nature and historic architecture; we tried to encompass this into our final pieces. We were inspired by the different ideas and materials such as collage and watercolour, as well as the artists Peter Doig, Abigail Reynolds, Monet, and Manet that were introduced to us by the online workshops that we did with The Courtauld.”
