The Courtauld Wellbeing Team
About the team
The Wellbeing Service is the first point of call for students who are experiencing any form of personal, health, financial or welfare issues. We work together to ensure that the wellbeing of students is supported while studying at The Courtauld. We provide advice, guidance, emotional support, signposting and advocacy for any wellbeing concerns that may be impacting you during your whole student journey, from application to graduation. You may have a physical or mental health condition, a specific learning disability, a diagnosis of a neurodiverse condition, or be experiencing personal issues such as acute stress, bereavement, financial hardship, relationship difficulties, family difficulties, harassment, bullying, or being a victim of crime.
With your permission, the Wellbeing and Counselling teams, as well as the specialist study skills tutor work together to best support you. The service is confidential unless we are concerned for your safety, in which case we do respectfully share information with those best placed to help you.
If you’re not sure what support you need or what is available to you, the first step is to email the Wellbeing team, and you’ll be offered an appointment to explore your options.
Counselling
We may refer you to one of our counsellors.
Counselling enables you to talk openly through your issues with a caring and supportive professional. Exploring your thoughts and feelings and where they come from, can be hugely beneficial and help you make better choices for yourself.
The Courtauld counselling service is accessible to all students at The Courtauld
You can self-refer using the online counselling registration form on e-vision. You will have an assessment session and, depending on your needs, will be allocated up to 6 further sessions per academic year.
If you are unsure about whether counselling is for you please contact wellbeing@courtauld.ac.uk to discuss your needs
Mental Health and Disability Support
Our student Wellbeing Advisers can support you with a range of wellbeing matters including mental or physical health related issues, specific learning differences and/or neurodiversity, or anything related to a disability. - General wellbeing check-ins
- Processing of exam and assignment adjustments (Summary of Reasonable Adjustments – SoRA)
- Help completing Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) applications
- Screenings for specific learning differences and neurodiverse conditions
- Referrals for Specialist Study Skills tutors and/or Mental Health Mentors
- Processing of Hardship Fund applications
If you would like to talk to us about any of these issues, or anything else related to your health or wellbeing, please email:
