We can learn much about the lives of other people and ourselves through looking at and creating portraits.  Artworks in our collection provide a rich source of material and prompt discussion allowing students to develop confidence in their opinions and creative responses.rnrnOur workshops are delivered by a team of specialist educators so will vary according to who is available on your chosen date but they will all include engaging closely with an artwork and ideas about subject, process and composition.rnrnActivities might include developing students understanding of key devices used by artists to convey identity such as expression, pose, background, costume and symbolic objects then using this to develop a self portrait or a collaborative class portrait.rnrnOur educators are experienced at adapting sessions to suit your students’ level and experience bringing an external voice to support your programme of study.
