11am – 1:00pm Registration Desk St Martin-in-the-Fields, Crypt Reception area.
To get to the Crypt Reception area, you will see a glass entrance way to the left of the main Church. Please proceed down the flight of stairs here, and you will see the registration desk. There will be signposts and helpers available on the day to guide you.
You MUST check in (please show your booking confirmation) to confirm that you are present. This is to give you your seat number for the church, and advise you of the finalised running order of the day.
Your guests do not need to register, but you will need to ensure you have collected and given them their tickets before they enter the church.
11am – 2:00pm Pick up your gowns from the designated area in St Martin-in-the-Fields
Go to the gowning room as soon as you are registered. Please ensure that you collect your hat and gown before 2:00pm at the latest.
If you would like to have your official photograph taken during the day, please ensure you have booked this in advance, and have had this taken before you attend the ceremony at 3:00pm.
Please note: If you would like to be part of the group photograph for your cohort, there will be an official Ede and Ravenscroft Photographer in the Courtyard at St Martin-in-the-Fields at the designated times below:
1.00pm – BA/Graduate Diploma Group Student Photograph
1.30pm – MA/Post-graduate Diploma Group Student photograph
2.00pm – PhD Group Student Photograph
3:00pm Doors to the Church open for Graduands and Guests
Graduands should use the designated door to gain entry and will be shown to their seat.
BA and Graduate Diploma students: you will be seated in an alphabetised order. Marshals will be on hand to guide you to your seat. Please stay in position (and do not move up unless instructed) to ensure you are in the correct order when your name is announced as you walk on to the stage to meet the Director.
MA/ Post-graduate Diploma students: you will be seated in your course groups, and then in an alphabetised order. Marshals will be on hand to guide you to your seat. Please stay in position (and do not move up unless instructed) to ensure you are in the correct order when your name is announced as you walk on to the stage to meet the Director.
As you may be required to sit in a different seat after you have graduated, you are advised to leave any bags with your guests.
Guests should use the main entrance, and seating for guests is unassigned, but entrance is strictly by TICKET ONLY.
Both you and guests must be seated in the church by 3:40pm at the latest.
4:00pm The Ceremony begins
At the appropriate moment during the ceremony, you will be marshalled out of your row to be presented to the Director.
Watch for instructions from the Marshal, who will ask you to move out of your row and will check you are in the correct order.
When you reach the platform area, please wait until you hear your name and the stage Marshal gives you the signal to walk towards the Director.
When your name is announced, cross the stage to the Director.
Once the Director has greeted and congratulated you, please follow the line and return to a seat.
You may not be seated in the same place, but Marshals will show you where to go so please follow their instructions.
Please note that all students will have their photograph taken receiving their degree from the Director. The photographs will be available to purchase from the Ede and Ravenscroft website about a week after Graduation.
5:30pm (Approx.) Process out of Church
The procession out of the church will be led by the Director, Chairman, Honorary Doctor, Honorary Fellows, academic staff and new PhD graduates.
Please remain seated until the Marshals instruct you out of your row to process out through the central doors.
5:30pm Reception at St Martin-in-the-Fields
Following the ceremony, you and your guests are invited to join the Director and staff for celebratory drinks at St Martin-in-the-Fields in the Crypt and in the Courtyard.
