Meitao holds a BA in Fine Art and Art History from Goldsmiths, a MA from the Courtauld (2020) specialising in contemporary Chinese art and geopolitics, and a MFA from the Ruskin School of Art (2021), funded by the Oxford-Kaifeng Graduate Scholarship.
Her research engages with the production and circulation of images and the role they play in shaping discourses of gender, race, and nation. She works as an Art History tutor at City Lit, delivering a series of courses on contemporary Chinese art and cinema. Recent and upcoming projects include artist residencies at Turf Projects, Croydon (2023) and Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, Fukuoka (2024).
