An exciting new display of 20th century British art is now open in The Courtauld’s 20th century Gallery (Room 11) until the end of 2023.
Watch our latest film featuring Dr Barnaby Wright, Deputy Head of The Courtauld Gallery and Daniel Katz Curator of 20th Century Art to explore some of the highlights on display, including the recent long-term loan of a remarkable painting by Leon Kossoff, Shell Building Site, 1962, and Halsetown, 1961, by Peter Lanyon.
The display also showcases the loan of a wonderful group of paintings by Patrick Heron, William Scott and Walter Sickert. These hang together with major paintings from The Courtauld’s collection such as Frank Auerbach’s monumental Rebuilding the Empire Cinema.
Entry to this display is included in The Courtauld Gallery general admission ticket.
Friends, students and under 18s go free.
