Using a range of artworks, including our unique collection of Impressionist paintings, we offer workshops that encourage your students to use close looking and practical experimentation to explore how artists use colour.

Our workshops are delivered by a team of specialist educators so will vary according to who is available on your chosen date but they will all include engaging closely with an artwork and ideas about subject, process and composition.

Activities might include an introduction to colour mixing allowing students to gain familiarity with terms such as primary, secondary, shade, tone, contrast and atmosphere or a collaborative artwork that considers how colour affects mood and can be used as a means of expression.
