The primary means of searching is our online catalogue, Aleph
Locating items in the Library:
The Aleph record for the item you want will look something like this (below). For full details always click on the ‘where’ link. This will provide you not only with the classmark but with information about whether the item is on loan, in a particular location, etc.
Below are some examples of the page you will arrive at after clicking on ‘where’. The items are indicated as a one day loan, an exhibition catalogue which is on loan, and an item in CABS (closed access book store).
To save time, always click the ‘where’ button before going to the shelves!
In addition to the online catalogue we also have the following finding aids:
Allows you to search for all material acquired by the Library up to and including 1992, including any material not added to the online catalogue. Located in the catalogue hall.
Exhibition catalogue listings
To find a temporary exhibition by the place in which it was held, or to see complete listings of the Library holdings of exhibition catalogues up to 1992 by venue. Located in the catalogue hall.
Journals holding list
Copy located in the periodicals hall or ask at the info point.
Note that items added to stock from 1 October 1992 appear only on the computer catalogue.
