The Courtauld to host ARTiculation 2019 London Regional Heat – Tuesday 10th January 2:30pm – 5pm

ARTiculation, the national public speaking competition, which promotes and supports young people to look, think and speak about art, will hold a London Regional Heat at The Courtauld Institute of Art (Somerset House campus) on Tuesday 10 January 2019, 2:30 – 5pm.

The Regional Final will see students aged between 16 – 19 delivering 10 minute-presentations about a work of art, architecture or an artefact of their choice in front of an audience and an adjudicator.

Schools taking part are Ashcroft Technology Academy, Bellerbys College Brighton, The Grey Coat Hospital School, Haberdashers Aske’s School for Girls, Harris St John’s Wood, Harrow School, Lady Eleanor Holles School, Three Rivers Academy, University College School, Worth School.

Dr Sussan Babaie, Andrew W. Mellon Reader in the Arts of Iran and Islam at The Courtauld will adjudicate this Regional Heat.

This year’s London Regional Heats will take place at an array of London’s top museum and galleries including: The Royal Academy of Arts, the Whitechapel Gallery, The Courtauld Institute of Art, and The Lightbox, Woking. Successful students at London Regional Heats will be invited to present at the London Final at The National Gallery.

Tonya Nelson, Director of Museums and Cultural Programmes, University College London, will adjudicate this year’s London Final in Friday 15 February 1:30pm-4:30pm.

She will select one student to go through to the Grand Final at Clare College, University of Cambridge on 1 March 2019.

The Grand Final will be adjudicated by Dr. Tristram Hunt, Director, V & A Museum.

Over 1,000 students enter The ARTiculation Prize in England every year.
