London Painters: Private Visit to Ordovas

Wed 14 Apr, 2021

London Painters is an exhibition which brings together works by a group of artists identified as the main proponents of the so-called ‘School of London’, Michael Andrews, Frank Auerbach, Francis Bacon, Lucian Freud, David Hockney, R.B. Kitaj and Leon Kossoff. Through a selection of self-portraits, depictions of their loyal sitters – sometimes shared – and London scenes, the show explores the artists’ dedication to the figure and cityscape, at a time when abstraction prevailed. This exhibition was previously shown at Ordovas New York where it was the first exhibition dedicated to this group in the city. Pilar Ordovas, Director and founder of the gallery will share her personal insights on the artists and the works on display. Drinks will be served.
