Painting Pairs 2019

This is the second of two presentations by this year’s ‘Painting Pairs’. Five pairs of Research Associates, each composed of a graduate student from the department of Conservation and Technology and one studying art history or curating are presenting the results of their investigations into five paintings drawn from the Courtauld Gallery, regional and private collections. They will each report on their technical and art historical examination in a 15-20 minute presentation, plus time for questions.

15:40-16:05 Alex Chipkin paired with Susannah Frances Kingwill, working on Man of Sorrows with Virgin and St John the Evangelist, 16th c., after Martin Schongauer (Phoebus Foundation)
