This is the second of two presentations by this year’s ‘Painting Pairs’. Five pairs of Research Associates, each composed of a graduate student from the department of Conservation and Technology and one studying art history or curating are presenting the results of their investigations into five paintings drawn from the Courtauld Gallery, regional and private collections. They will each report on their technical and art historical examination in a 15-20 minute presentation, plus time for questions.

14:00-14:25 Anna Vesaluoma paired with Maria Vittoria Pellini, working on Sorrowful Women, 20th c., by Annie Walke (private collection)

14:25-14:50 Luz Vanasco paired with Chloé D’Hondt, working on Interior Scene, 20th c., by an unknown painter (private collection)

14:50-15:15 Kendall Francis paired with Tim McCall, working on Portrait of Isabella Clara Eugenia, Infanta of Spain (1566-1633), attributed to Anthony van Dyck (private collection)

15:15-15:40 Alice Limb paired with Zoë Zaneteas, working on a series of nude sketches, 19th c., attributed to William Etty (Courtauld Gallery)

15:40-16:05 Alex Chipkin paired with Susannah Frances Kingwill, working on Man of Sorrows with Virgin and St John the Evangelist, 16th c., after Martin Schongauer (Phoebus Foundation)
