We understand that applicants and offer holders will have a range of questions, including about the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.

We are taking steps to ensure the safety of our students, staff and visitors during the situation. A number of our buildings have closed, all teaching will take place remotely for the summer term, and events have been cancelled, postponed or moved online. We will continue to review this and will provide further updates on our main FAQs.

Are you still accepting applications for the BA History of Art?

We will make a decision about considering undergraduate applications via UCAS Clearing in the early summer. Otherwise we are not considering UCAS application at this time.

Are you still accepting applications your postgraduate courses?

Applications for 2020 entry is now closed. Applications for 2021 entry will open at the end of October 2020.

Will the coronavirus outbreak delay my application being reviewed?

Our Admissions team are working to process all applications and provide decisions as soon as possible.

My examinations have been suspended or cancelled. How will this affect my application?

We are aware that delays and cancellations will impact upon examinations and results at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

For undergraduate students in the UK, The Department for Education recently announced that the admissions timetable will run similarly to previous years, and that all students in the UK will be awarded a calculated grade for any exam they were entered for. Whilst we are awaiting further guidance regarding alternative assessment methods, we will continue to monitor the situation and make necessary adjustments to our admissions processes based on government guidance.

Please visit the UCAS coronavirus information page, which will be updated as new information is confirmed. We encourage you to review this periodically and also pay attention to other updates that UCAS may provide you with directly or via UCAS Track.

For students completing examinations outside the UK or at postgraduate level, we will contact you via email with further details on how changes to your examinations may be reported to us, so we can ensure that your application is not disadvantaged when being considered.

We will contact offer holders via email when we have further information.

My grades may be affected by missing courses / distance learning. Will you take this into account?

The Courtauld is committed to ensuring that students are not disadvantaged in our considerations, and that we will show the utmost flexibility when taking into account changes to how you are assessed. The benefit of being a small, specialist institution is that we have always taken the time to fully consider all applications on a case-by case-basis – and we will continue to do this.

Do I need to submit mitigating circumstances relating to coronavirus?

You do not need to provide individual mitigating circumstances that are coronavirus related. In this unprecedented time we appreciate that everyone will have been impacted. We will contact you via email should there be a need to document changes to how you have been assessed.

Has the UCAS reply deadline been extended?

If you receive(d) your last decision from any of your choices on or before 4th June, the UCAS reply deadline has been extended to 18th June.

I am unable to take my English language test due to IELTS test centre closures. How will this affect me?

We are currently monitoring advice for institutions assessing students requiring a Secure English Language Test. We will be in touch with offer holders via email when we have further information.

What is happening to Open Days and Campus Tours?

Our Undergraduate Open Days been moved online.

Unfortunately, we will not be delivering campus tours in spring / summer 2020. We will resume the campus tours page when they resume.

How will your courses be taught in 2020/21?
Will I be able to receive a visa for blended learning?

The Home Office has announced that Tier 4 Sponsors can sponsor new students studying through distance or blended learning
