Showcasing Art History Evening Lecture SeRies IX 2014-2015
Tuesday evenings in term time from 7.15 - 8.15 in the Kenneth Clark Lecture Theatre, followed by drinks. The new season starts on 30 September 2014.
Autumn and Spring terms:
Exceptionally this season, we will explore the wider subject of European and American Modernism across both autumn and spring terms, presenting an overall narrative arc for those who wish to subscribe to both terms. However, each term is also in itself coherent, the autumn lectures broadly ranging from Pre-Raphaelite art and the Aesthetic movement to the world of Schiele, Kandinsky and Schoenberg (c. 1850-c. 1914), and the spring lectures from Cubism to Abstract Expressionism (c. 1908 - c. 1950)
The shorter summer term is dedicated to an investigation of the intersections between art and technology, from the Renaissance to the twenty-first century.
PLEASE NOTE: BOTH THE AUTUMN AND SPRING TERMS ARE NOW FULL .
Places are still available for the Summer Term.
