Students visiting the gallery

We are operating a timed ticket system for the temporary exhibition Egon Schiele: The Radical Nude (23 October 2014 - 18 January 2015). This system does not affect groups wishing to visit our permanent collection.

Please be aware that this exhibition includes some drawings of an explicit nature which teachers and group leaders may deem unsuitable for some audience groups.  It is the responsibility of teachers and tutors to decide whether content is appropriate for their group.  Please email education@courtauld.ac.uk with any queries pertaining to the content.

self Guided visits

Free Gallery entry for all under 18s, full-time UK students and accompanying staff.

  • Self-guided visits to the gallery are available to Schools, Colleges and Universities every day except Mondays.

  • Advance booking is essential for groups wishing to make a self-guided visit in order to gain free entry.

  • Please give us at least two weeks’ notice to book visits .

  • PLEASE NOTE The Courtauld Gallery requests a student to teacher supervision ratio of 10:1.

PLEASE NOTE: Whilst our learning centre is being refurbishmed all workshops and tours will take place in the gallery.  Unfortunately we do not have a lunch space at present.

Between June and November 2014, works will take place in the Mezzanine floor of the gallery. There should be minimal disturbance to visitors, but there will be reduced space in the gallery entrance foyer. During that time we ask that groups wait outside the gallery entrance (underneath the arches) while the group leader goes to admission and checks his/her group in. This will help with other visitors clearing admission and accessing the gallery. There might occasionally be noise in some parts of the gallery while the works are being undertaken. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Self-Guided visits are only available to accredited Schools, FE Colleges or HE institutions. Non formal educational groups, especially non accredited HE groups, cannot reserve and pre-book visits, see our Group Visits page for further information
