Janine Catalano
new Alumni Relations Officer

My first introduction to The Courtauld was through a fortuitous encounter with an alumna several years ago. When researching MA programmes it was another Courtauld alum, one of my instructors at the University of Pennsylvania, who confirmed that The Courtauld was undoubtedly the place I needed to be. Before even setting foot in the Institute, I was invited to meet alumni and fellow incoming students in New York City.

Having completed my MA here this July, I am delighted that I can continue here as the Alumni Relations Officer. My hope is to enable all alumni to revive, maintain and foster their connections to The Courtauld. We are making great efforts to provide alumni with ways to both benefit from and give back to The Courtauld community. We have plans involving local area chapters, career networks, and various interest groups, to ensure that our alumni are kept up to date with their fellow graduates.

I welcome all comments, so please do contact me at 020 7848 1082, or janine.catalano@courtauld.ac.uk

The importance of e-mail
In this 75th anniversary year, we want to ensure that we have reliable contact details for our alumni. Emails serve as an efficient, environmentally friendly and cost-effective way to receive information about events, new services and opportunities.

If we do not have your most up-to-date email address already, we would appreciate your providing it to us. This information will not be shared with outside parties, and you can opt out of any email lists at any time. Please email it to alumni@courtauld.ac.uk, post it back on the enclosed alumni update form, or amend it yourself on your account at www.courtauldassociation.org.

We are also pleased to offer a new Permanent Email Alias to our alumni through the online Courtauld Association Network. This entitles you to a forwarding email address (your.name@courtauldassocation.org), a benefit of your lifetime membership in the Courtauld Association, which you can have directed to any existing email account. Register at www.courtauldassociation.org, sign in, and select “Permanent Email Alias” to gain access to this service.

New York Alumni Network
The New York Alumni Network connects US alumni and introduces new and prospective students to The Courtauld. We typically host an event in the summer for incoming students, many of whom have not had the chance to visit The Courtauld itself. The informal event allows new students to speak to alumni who can answer questions about life in London and studying at the Institute.

The other aim of the group is to offer networking opportunities to former students. The Courtauld community of art professionals, scholars, and artists can serve as a resource for alumni whether they are seeking employment, housing, or information about arts events.

Though we are based in New York, we always welcome the participation of former students from across the US. Please join our group on the Courtauld Association’s website – we look forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing you in the future!
