The Courtauld launches a new two-year MA in Buddhist Art
The Courtauld launches a new two-year MA in Buddhist Art: History and Conservation for 2017/18 in collaboration with SOAS.
This MA provides a comprehensive grounding in the history of Buddhism, Buddhist art and its conservation for those intending to pursue further specialist conservation education, and for those who wish to proceed into related fields such as art-historical research, curating and site-management.
Dr Giovanni Verri, Lecturer in Buddhist Art and its Conservation, said “This collaboration between The Courtauld and SOAS will make a step change in the conservation of Buddhist Art”.
Key features of this MA include:
• teaching by a wide range of specialists from both The Courtauld and SOAS, and visiting experts;
• study trips to museums in the UK and Europe, and a longer study trip to India to develop an appreciation of Buddhist art in its original contexts;
• participation in conferences and public events regularly held by the Ho Centre at The Courtauld.
